Ashburton to Lifton
1 Porsches, with 13 people, met in the dark and wet shortly before 7am on the outskirts of Ashburton. One of those morning when you begin to question the sanity of early drives as the days get shorter, but as soon as you’re underway it’s all worth it.
Roads were quiet and we came through the mist as we drove up onto the Moor. We stopped for an obligatory photo shoot at Pork Hill Car park by which time it was both light and visibility was good.
Driving through Tavistock we clocked the car park in front of the impressive Guildhall building was empty, a rare sight, so we had to have another quick group photo stop.

We then headed North towards Hatherleigh, via Lydford Gorge. The sun was breaking through and past Sourton Cross we were treated to dry roads….for about 2 miles. We then headed across to Holsworthy and down to Launceston on clear quick roads, before descending on Strawberry Fields Farm shop for a great breakfast.
As ever it was everyone who joined, their shared enthusiasm for all things Porsche, driving, photography and fried breakfasts that made it. Can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday morning.
