Williams Crawford – Now part of the Porsche Partner Network (PPN)

Doing things to Porsche that few are able to manage….

Just like driving, we like to continually upgrade our abilities here. Often that is driven by the desire to keep things in-house, under our control and our eyes. We can control quality and essentially do a better job, we can control how the cars are handled, driven and even parked.

One of the first we brought in house was restoration (Graham), later we added laser alignment, then corner weights, MOT’s and we have continuously made upgrades. It’s common practice that these procedures that are often given to third parties, and when doing so, our lovely cars are in unknown hands, we don’t like that.

The latest development is PPN. We are now accredited with the Porsche Partner Network and FAZIT.
What does it mean?
Essentially Porsche through PPN, allow us a direct link to the Factory, in the same way as an OPC. It includes access to the latest technical information, repair procedures, bulletins, software upgrades, key and module programing and security systems (that’s the FAZIT part).

It means we can look after the latest Porsche, including those still under manufacturer’s Warranty or under Porsche used car Warranty. This is a capability that only a few independents in the UK have at their disposal.

That feels good. We hope we can help.

Below is a technical explanation of PPN.

PPN Explanation

PPN is an abbreviation of Porsche Partner Network and is the online Porsche system that the dealer network uses to carry out a number of tasks when a vehicle is in the workshop for service/repair.

PPN allows access to Guided Fault Finding (GFS), Wiring Diagrams (PAB) & Porsche Central Service System (PCSS).

GFS allows the technician to input certain fault symptoms into a filter which searches the network for any applicable repairs or bulletins and also offers the technician guidance when diagnosing a fault.

PAB allows access to all the wiring diagrams for the Porsche family of cars which can be filtered by adding the vehicle chassis number.

PCSS allows the user to enter a vehicles chassis number to access an array of information including new car and used car warranty statuses, workshop procedure manuals, Porsche bulletins and recalls, Standard labour times, Service sheets and component locations.

FAZIT As a Porsche specialist we have been accredited with Porsche to have access to FAZIT which is also accessed via PPN and allows us the ability to carry out programming of new and existing security modules on all modern Porsche. Items that are part of the security network are Remote keys, Engine module, Alarm module and Drivetrain modules.
