Christmas Jumper Drive 2024
On a quintessentially British December morning—complete with light rain and festive cheer—the Westcountry Porsche Drivers Club gathered for their highly anticipated Christmas Jumper Drive. Despite the drizzle, spirits were high as three convoys of Porsche enthusiasts hit the road, their vehicles gleaming defiantly against the grey skies.
The event saw separate departures from Exeter, Chiverton Cross, and Saltash, each convoy winding its way through the scenic Westcountry lanes. The sight was nothing short of spectacular: a dazzling array of Porsches, from timeless classics to cutting-edge modern machines, threading their way through the misty countryside. Drivers and passengers added to the festive atmosphere with their quirky and colorful Christmas jumpers, proving that style isn’t just limited to what’s under the hood.
By 9am, all three groups converged at Strawberry Fields Nursery, a welcoming oasis tucked into the heart of the countryside. The rain may have dampened the roads, but not the enthusiasm of the 40 club members who arrived to share stories, admire each other’s cars, and sit down to a hearty breakfast.

The car park at Strawberry Fields was a feast for the eyes. From lovingly maintained air-cooled 911’s to the latest 992’s, with a 928 and a 944, every era of Porsche’s storied history was represented. The light rain lent a cinematic sheen to the vehicles, highlighting their curves and contours in a way only a Porsche can pull off. Conversations ranged from tales of restoration to the joys of tackling Devon and Cornwall’s roads in machines built for pure driving pleasure.
Over breakfast, the warmth of the community shone through. Plates of hearty fare fueled animated discussions about upcoming drives, favorite routes, and the enduring appeal of Porsche’s engineering excellence. It was clear that, for this group, the Christmas Jumper Drive was more than an event—it was a celebration of shared passion and connection.
As the gathering wound down, the rain eased, and engines roared back to life, echoing across the rolling hills. Members departed with full hearts (and stomachs), ready to take on the festive season and looking forward to the adventures that 2025 promises to bring.
The Christmas Jumper Drive wasn’t just about cars or camaraderie—it was about the magic of the Westcountry, the thrill of the journey, and the joy of being part of a community united by their love for Porsche. A little rain couldn’t dampen that.
