January Jaunt Drive 2025

On Sunday 19th January, the West Country Porsche Drives Club kicked off the new year with their much-anticipated *January Jaunt*. With 16 cars in attendance, the group was split into two separate convoys, each navigating the dark, early morning roads for what promised to be a scenic and enjoyable start to the year.

While the weather was cold and crisp, the skies remained clear — ideal for some stunning photos at the iconic Slapton Sands. However, the early hour brought its challenges. The darkness made the often-treacherous potholes harder to spot, requiring a careful eye and steady hand on the wheel. Thankfully, the drive’s atmosphere was convivial, with everyone focused on the road ahead, the hum of the engines, and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, not all went as planned. Long-time member Lyn Major was unable to join the group due to an untimely puncture. Undeterred, Lyn opted to head home, but made sure to meet up with the rest of the club later at the breakfast stop in his trusty Jeep, a reminder that no matter the wheels, the club’s spirit remains strong.

The morning Finished at the Ring Feeder Café, near Ivybridge a new destination for the club. While the café was a first for many of the members, it certainly didn’t disappoint. The food was hearty and satisfying, providing the perfect fuel after an invigorating drive along the South West’s picturesque lanes. Whether it was a classic Full English or a lighter bite, the café was a hit, and the group thoroughly enjoyed the warm hospitality and buzzing atmosphere.

With the usual blend of good company, stunning views, and reliable Porsches, it was an event to remember. We’ll be counting down the days until the next gathering — hopefully with less pothole dodging and more scenic routes!
